FInding the Perfect Gift.

I have been reading through the Advent.  Pretty much same story that I have heard over and over since I was a little girl.  Did not expect anything new to "jump out" at me and grab my heart.  I was wrong.  Scripture is living.  It breathed a new word into my heart.

I love to give gifts.  I have been known to go into debt to give "THE. PERFECT. GIFT." to all who enter my house.  This year my hubby and I decided, very wisely, not to spend more than the cash we had on hand.  I had to become creative in gift giving.  I had to let go of the idea of finding...THE.PERFECT. GIFT.   Enter the Holy Spirit who began to prompt me to look at what gift we could give that would honor Jesus' birth.  After all, this is His birthday.  We celebrate it at our house with big Birthday Party for Jesus with LOTS of friends.   Pretty sure he does not want in iPad,  helicopter, or dolls.  What to bring Him?  What to bring Him?  The Wise Men brought gifts.... really expensive gifts.  No money for  gifts of gold here.  Then I read Luke 2:13-20.  It's about the shepherds in the field.

..."When they had seen him, the spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.  THE SHEPHERDS RETURNED, GLORIFYING AND PRAISING GOD FOR ALL THE THINGS THEY HAD HEARD AND SEEN, WHICH WAS JUST AS THEY HAD BEEN TOLD."

That's it... the gift we are to bring, the first gift the Christ Child, Jesus, received was WORSHIP.

This year we will worship.  Not just  with the sweet melody of Christmas carols sung at Christmas Eve service, but in our home, with our friends and family.  We will bring him, OUR KING,  words of glory and praise and worship.  That is the gift He desires.  That is THE.PERFECT.GIFT  for the PERFECT KING.

Hi Ya'll

This blogging idea is so very exciting and scary for me.  Kinda of like a roller coaster ride.  The thrill leads me, but as soon as I am buckled in, I am praying to get off the ride.   Curiosity, caused by hours of stalking other blogs, has lead me to begin this one.  Actually, it has been God placing curiosity in my mind and words in my heart that need a place to breath.   And though there will be lots of bumbles as I get the feel of this,  ride on, hands in the air, deep breath and here we go.

I am NOT a professional writer.  I am a talker.  Writing seems sooooooo very  time consuming when I can just utter the words and not have to worry about grammar or spell check or how my words will "sound" without voice inflection and eye contact.  Hopefully, you can look past my grammar and just hear my heart as I learn to talk via written words.

I AM a child of God, a wife to a savvy traveling businessman,  homeschooling mom of 3, who loves the Arkansas Razorbacks (so happy that football season is just around the corner), politics, cooking, family & friends and reading.  My goal is to have God glorified in all I do, but often I mess that up and pray He be glorified in spite of my failures.   I am also a procrastinator and daydreamer.  So after a lot of daydreaming and procrastinating, (and planning and talking it over with friends and praying) I do hereby officially launch Bumbles and Blessings into the blog world.
